No Orders will be despatched today…

due to a major Police and Fire incident in Rossendale, which has closed the road to the sorting office, we are unable to send out any items today.

Also, our courier driver cannot get to us for our collections for larger items.

Beyond our control, but we can only apologise for any inconvenience.

We will be sending out items tomorrow – which we be our last despatch day before Easter.

Possible delivery delays

Royal Mail continue to expereince difficulty with mail collection and delivery in BB postcodes – that’s us!

http://bit.ly/egLvXr

Please be advised that unless you have had a specific email about delay of your order, all orders are despatched by Agratech within 3 working days. If you have ordered via EBay or Amazon shops please check your order record on that system as this will show you the despatch date.

As per the Royal Mail update today, there are still delays into and out of the BB postcodes; and as this is where we are, any delay  of orders that we have put into the post system is beyond our control.

Larger items such 20L sprayers and ATV sprayers are generally sent by courier, and this is operating normally.

Due to these delays we will not send out replacements for ‘lost or missing’ items until Royal Mail service is back to usual operating standards.

Thank you for your understanding!

DEFRA budget cut by 33% in Spending Review

DEFRA, The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs is to have its budget cut by up to 33% in the Comprehensive Spending Review:

Defra will reprioritise its spending, focusing tax payer’s money on British farming and food production; enhancing the environment and biodiversity; and supporting a green economy resilient to climate change.

The Department will manage its reductions by:

Maximising the use of matched European funding for the Rural Development Programme for England, enabling a £66m reduction in domestic contributions. This will allow environmental stewardship schemes to remain open to all farmers. Defra will prioritise schemes that will be most beneficial to the environment, increasing the  Higher Level Stewardship Scheme by 80%.

Here is the summary of the comprehensive spending review as applied to DEFRA
